Jim Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Founder
Mr. Williams has over 30 years experience in the field of information technology mostly with Fortune 200 Companies that have undergone rapid growth both organically and through acquisitions. He has spent 24 years in executive level management positions including, Chief Information Officer (CIO), in the Financial Services Industry and 7 years as the CIO of PacifiCare Health Systems, a major national health plan. He most recently spent 2 years as President and CEO of a publicly traded software technology company.
In addition to his experience in the field of information technology, he has also had functional responsibility for back office operations including a large scale customer service center. As a member of corporate management teams, he has led the IT, and in some cases, operations areas, in the planning, due diligence and execution of mergers or acquisitions of over 30 companies. During his career, Mr. Williams has been a guest speaker on the subject of information technology at managed care conferences and for technology and consulting companies. He has served as a Board Member for the Managed Care Executive Group, as well as, public and non-profit companies.
Spence Allen, Chief Financial Officer, Founder
Mr. Allen has served as the President and CEO of the parent company AFA Technologies, Inc. since its inception. He has more than 20 years experience in Senior Financial/Administrative Management and has played a key role in three successful IPO's to date
He has experience with both private and public companies in a variety of industries, including high technology firms and International assignments. His background includes developing sound strategic and annual plans, as well as reporting of actual results against the plan, and working closely with the management team to insure that planned results are achieved.
Allen worked with several Fortune 500 companies early in his career, where he received extensive training in both manufacturing as well as sales and marketing. Most recently he held the Chief Financial Officer positions at Goldtouch Technologies and Interleucin Genetics.
Tony Chen, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Chen joined Health Savings Technology as the Chief Technology Officer in January, 2006. From 2002 to 2006 he was a Senior Technical Manager with The Trizetto Group working on enterprise level software solutions at United HealthCare. He was the founder and CEO of Globalsync, a software and consulting services company, and he has over 10 years experience in complex project management with Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Chen is Siebel System certified and has over eight years experience implementing software solutions that enhance Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Mr. Chen holds Computer Science and Business Management Degrees from the University of San Diego, where he specialized in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture.
Joseph Vason, Vice President, Client Services
Mr. Vason has 20 years of experience in Healthcare Management, with a specific focus on Information Technology.
Prior to his current position at HST, Mr. Vason was Director of Systems Integration at MAJI Technologies in Falls Church, Va, where he was responsible for all project development and implementation of customer applications.
From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Vason was a founding member of the successful Allied Health Group, where he was Director of Information Systems. Allied, which paid claims on behalf of managed care organizations, grew from a local company to a national company with over 400 employees within six years. Mr. Vason designed Allied's Information System's Customer Service Division to focus on the needs of customers such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Prudential, Aetna, and many other regional HMOs. Allied was purchased by Magellan Health Services in 1997.
Prior to his involvement with Allied, Mr. Vason was President and CEO of Professional Medical Administrators of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
